The IT Project Manager is a pivotal role, ensuring the successful delivery of technology projects and solutions, achieving objectives within timescales, budget, and scope, in collaboration with key stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Acting as the liaison between the business units, technology and support teams, and ensuring the communication needs of stakeholders are identified and met.
  • Following the project delivery process for project execution, delivering regular reporting; and participating in project reviews and continuous improvement activities.
  • Arranging and managing project meetings, ensuring they are effective and productive by circulating agendas and any pre-reading beforehand, and issuing follow-up information.
  • Tracking project task updates and budgetary spend, engaging in regular dialogue with the delivery team to ensure progress is understood and any blockers are known, and issuing project status updates in conjunction with the Delivery Manager and Project Management team.
  • Creating, maintaining and regularly reviewing the project plan, managing deliverables with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery to time, cost and quality.
  • Owning projects from inception through to successful delivery; forming the project team ensuring roles and responsibilities are clearly established; agreeing scope and deadlines; creating and maintaining the stakeholder plan; and implementing quality control measures.
  • Managing and participating in project activities including production of functional and technical specifications, unit and integration testing, and Go-Live planning.
  • Leading allocated teams, coaching, developing, empowering and performance managing them to deliver a first class service.
  • Managing change requests, determining impact, and ensuring changes to scope, time, cost, quality and escalation of risks and issues adheres to internal governance and decision-making frameworks.
  • Undertaking post-delivery reviews of all projects in conjunction with key stakeholders and participants, circulating any learning to support improvements in project management best practice.
  • Managing the coordination, delegation and overall workflow of tasks, creating a well-structured and professional project environment;

Job Requirements:

  • Curious mindset, who proactively develops an understanding of the business and keeps up to date with technological advances in order to develop strategic solutions to challenges encountered.
  • Experience of working within both Agile and Waterfall Environments
    Comprehensive experience of MS O365, MS Teams, MS Project, Visio and Agile tools.
  • Professional qualifications such as an IT-related degree, PRINCE2, IITIL or Scrum Master certification would be useful, but are not essential for candidates with strong relevant experience.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with demonstrable experience in delivering multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Able to identify and manage critical issues, using a creative and pragmatic approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to understand, appreciate and adapt to different working styles and patterns to get the most out of the team and project contributors.
  • A strong commercial focus, with evidence of delivering business objectives and ROI.
  • Strong project planning, organisational and time management skills with the ability to effectively prioritise workload, managing competing deadlines and resources whilst adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Significant experience of delivering complex IT projects, including RFIs, RFPs, business process reviews, solution design documents and roadmaps, software and service procurement and implementation, and transformation projects.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues at all levels, and bring technical concepts to life to a non-technical audience.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with the ability to coach, develop, empower and performance manage a small team.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to effectively interpret clients’ business needs and translate them into business/operational requirements.
  • Solid technical/IT understanding with the ability to suggest areas for improvement in internal processes alongside possible technological solutions.
